Poté, co zpěvák Bill selhal v show, kde se hledala nová dětská hvězda, si ho všiml hudební producent Peter Hoffman.
Vyrostli jsme posloucháním amerických kapel jako Metallica, Green Day a Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

The biggest German stars in the last 20 years are taking over the world of music in the speed of thunder. The oldest band member is not even 21 years old, but the kids have already got the most important German music awards. They have four number one songs, two the most selling albums and they have sold almoust 3 million CDs and DVDs in their home land Germany. Twins Bill and Tom Kaulitz, Gustav Schäfer i Georg Listing had their first concerts in North America in February, all five of them were sold out and on the March 28th they will have a concert in Ljubljana as a part of their big European Tour.
The biggest teenage stars in the Europe at the moment are living a dream, from which they don't want to wake up soon. They say that they have never even dreamed about such a success. France, Austria, Belgium, Italy and Spain are only few of the countries where "tokio" boys have caused that teens don't want to study English in school, but German.
"We like live preformances the most. That's also how we started three years ago - playing our songs in small clubs and bars - sometimes in front of only five people", says the guitarist Tom Kaulitz. Today their audience is made of more then ten thousand amazed fans, mostly teenage girls, and in Paris, where they had their biggest success next to Germany, they played in front of 500 000 people in front of the Eiffel Tower. Besides that, Tokio Hotel had the most successful newcomer tour ever in Germany. And how good live they really are, they showed at the Mtv Europe Music Awards on the 1st of November 2007, exactly two months after the twins got 18. Next to an amazing performance, they got the award for the biggest international stars, and they were also nominated for the best band. It was the first time in the Mtv history that some German musicians were nominated in two categories.
It all began seven years ago when brothers Bill and Tom, 11 years old back then, made the band called Devilish together with Gustav, who plays the drumms and the basist Georg, performing in the talent shows and smaller concerts. After the singer Bill failed in the show where they were searching a new kid star, a music producer Peter Hoffman saw him. Band changed their name into Tokio Hotel (the boys like big cities that are far away, and hotels are like their second home) so they signed the contract with Sony BMG. But before their first album Schrei was published, Sony broke the contract and Tokio Hotel got into the record company Universal Music.
Already with their first song "Durch den Monsun" from the "Schrei" album, the boys have taken over the music charts, but also the hearts of their fans for who they say that are "the best fans in the world". Songs "Schrei" and "Rette mich" also had a great success. In February 2007 they published their second album "Zimmer 483" from which the most noticable songs were "Übers Ende der Welt" and "Spring Nicht", and in June their first album in English, named "Scream", was published which is made of songs from their both albums and which opened the door for Tokio Hotel in America.
"We have always dreamed of a success in the USA. We grew up listening to American bands such as Metallica, Green Day and Red Hot Chilli Peppers. We wanted to get the chance to do what they do", says frontman Bill Kaulitz, the most interesting and the most charismatic band member whose look and image gets copied a lot of times - some people think he is ugly, while others think that he is the most beautiful being that has ever walked on the Earth. But behind the femine lines of his face, a lot of make up and manicured nails is much more than a young boy who takes care of his looks - Bill writes all of the lyrics and the music is for him, he says, everything in the world.
"Each of our songs has a message. 'Don't Jump' is a song against the suicide which tells that you shouldn't give up from yourself, while the guitarful 'Scream' tells that you should always say, or better scream, what you think. Soft but powerful ballad 'Rescue me' tells how helpless every person feels when a love relationship breaks apart in front of his eyes, and the song 'Monsoon' that all the difficulties in life can be gone through. I hope that I will do music and when I'll be 83, I adore writing lyrics and I would like to write lyrics for other musicians someday", says Bill.
As a difference to a romantic Bill, who admits that he is not for the relationships for one night, his ten minutes older brother Tom is known as a big seducer. It was also in the press that he, in the week their first single came out, slept with 25 girls. But that's only one of the millions of rumours that were in German and other media about the band in the last two years. Recently, on the awards show Die Goldene Kamera, where they won the award for the best national group, Bill remembered, in front of the honoured guests, all of the rumours that were published about them - that they had problems with the social service, that they were kicked out from one hotel, that Bill admited he was homosexual and also that he almost died of anorexia. "But inspite of all this, and maybe even because of this, we are still here", Bill finishes.
After Canada and the USA, Tokio Hotel goes on their second European Tour on the March, 3rd called "1000 Hotels". As a part of the tour, they will sing their biggest hits in the venue Hala Tivoli in Ljubljana on March, 28th. The most of the concerts have already sold out, but luckily for the Croatian fans and the ones who will become that, there are still tickets for the concert in Ljubljana and they can be bought at Eventim for 40 euros.
